The short explanation of this alert was:
URGENT:
The Fair Share Health Care Act is fair because it would ensure that the state’s largest and most profitable companies, like Wal-Mart, contribute their fair share to their employees’ health care by meeting a minimum standard of contribution or paying into a state health care fund to cover the uninsured. This bill is an important step to addressing our state's health care crisis.
The Fair Share Health Care Act was heard in both the House and Senate and throughout the session legislators have heard from hundreds of Health Care Voters, business owners, unions, and community groups who have joined together to send a strong message in support. While the General Assembly is deliberating other important health care legislation that Rhode Island for Health Care has been advocating for, they still have not passed the Fair Share Health Care Act.
URGENT: Take action by sending a message to our elected officials that it's time for Fair Share Health Care! Together we can win quality, affordable health care for all Rhode Islanders.
