We're sorry, this alert is no longer available.

The short explanation of this alert was:

Maryland's Health Care Voters are urging Governor Ehrlich to restore $7 million in funding for the women and children of legal immigrant families.  This is funding that never should have been cut in the first place but, claiming budget constraints, the governor cut it anyway.  Now a ONE BILLION SURPLUS is expected and yet the governor still refuses to authorize funding for the most needy of these families - their children.

Take action now to urge Governor Ehrlich to restore full funding of health care for low income legal immigrant families – including the children.

With a one billion dollar surplus, the additional $5.5 million needed to cover the children of LEGAL immigrant families should not be up for debate.  Ask the governor to ensure that ALL Maryland families have access to affordable, quality health care.
